Jocelyn Kvernes has over 18 years of health care strategic business development experience for physicians, hospitals, ancillaries and numerous national payers. She has held numerous positions in Health Care: UnitedHealthcare of Texas, Inc.; CareSelect Group Inc.; Great West (formerly One Health Plan of Texas Inc.); BlueCross BlueShield of Texas; NYLCare of Texas, Inc. (Sanus Texas Health Plan, Inc.). Ms. Kvernes began her health care career in the late 80’s, where she managed capitation contracts with primary care physicians and physician groups. She has spent her career in the managed care insurance industry, negotiating physician and hospital contracts for some of the nation’s largest payers. Her experience in the development and implementation of HMO/PPO network market strategies, enabled her to successfully acquire a payer’s HMO License from the Texas Department of Insurance in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Her previous work experience also includes working for a physician practice management company where she assisted physicians in renegotiating fee-for-service and capitation contracts. Ms. Kvernes received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
